I have known Mr. Edward Kayne since 1980 at which time we were both associated with Shearson Loeb Rhoades (now Shearson Lehman Hutton) in New York City. At Shearson, Ed and I worked together with mutual clients, he handling comodity and financial future transactions and I general security transactions (stocks and bonds). Subsequent to Shearson, although both of us became affiliations with mutual clients. Furthermore, I call upon Ed for advice in his area of expertise as he does in mine.

I can best sum up our relationship as one of great mutual respect and one which continually provides reciprocal advice to our mutual as well as our own respective clients. Ed Kayne has always been to me an example of the highest caliber in business as well as personal. I regard it as an asset and a pleasure to be associated with him, thus I am proud to call him my friend.

For over twenty years, Ed Kayne and I have had a close personal and professional relationship. During this time, he managed the jazz group “East Coast Offering”, promoting college and other tours, as well as producing our first LP on the Inner City Label (Downbeat Magazine Jazz “Label of the Year”).

I count Ed among my best and oldest friends. If I were to look for an ally or partner in any venture, I’d consider Ed peerless. A tenacious negotiator with great insight and uncanny instincts, Ed, ever the diligent student of his chosen topic, operates smoothly under fire, never losing perspective or a sense of humor.

Dear Ed,

I hope all is going well with the markets – I certainly miss the excitement. No doubt I gained a tremendous amount of experience working with you. You’ve got charisma, a thirst for excellence, a dedication necessary to excel. Most importantly, you’re an excellent trader and no academic course could even come close to teaching me what you’ve taught me this past year.

Pam

I want to thank you for all your help in reviewing and analyzing the trading in the four accounts which are the subject of this action. We have received a trail date of March 23, 1992 the commodities Futures Trading Commission beginning on that date. I am sure that I will be back to you again for further assistance as the trail date grows closer.
